About Us

Centre for Hausa Research and Culture (CHARC) is an organization with the broad aim of researching into the industry and emergence of the Zango Communities as well as encouraging the teaching and learning of the Hausa language, its traditional value and culture. Knowing well both the importance of the Hausa language both locally and internationally, and being the common and widely spoken language within the Zango communities, there is the need to encourage the speaking of the language for easy communication and interaction among the different ethnic groups within the Zango communities. This will also help create a forum for the people within the over 500 Zango communities to organize themselves in all spheres of life, free of all cultural and traditional prejudices which hinder development in the Zango community in particular and the country at large.
